Our Purpose
At Virtuous Vine, we believe Black girls are like roses—planted with intention, nurtured with care, and destined to bloom with strength and beauty. Just as a rose grows through every season, developing soft petals and protective thorns, we cultivate young women who embody confidence, dignity, and purpose.
Our purpose is to build a community where Black girls grow strong in character—cultivating confidence, dignity, and purpose while planting seeds today that will transform communities for generations to come. Because when one rose blooms, the entire garden flourishes.
Our Mission Statement
Virtuous Vine’s mission is to empower Black girls to develop strong character, confidence, dignity, and purpose through structured programming centered on sisterhood, leadership development, and career readiness. We provide culturally responsive mentorship, skill-building opportunities, and exposure to academic and professional pathways to equip participants for long-term personal success and community impact. By investing in Black girls today, we are cultivating the next generation of leaders who will transform families, neighborhoods, and future generations.
About The Founder
Kayla is a proud graduate of the University of Cincinnati, where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree and became a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. She is currently pursuing her Master’s degree at The Ohio State University. She plans to purse a career supporting adolescents with mental health, behavioral, and substance use challenges.
As the oldest of three siblings, Kayla holds her family close to her heart. From a young age, she has been passionate about empowering young girls—dedicating her time and energy to inspiring personal growth, financial independence, and community impact. Surrounded by a strong and loving village, Kayla has been deeply influenced by the values of education, independence, and perseverance. The resilient women who have guided her have equipped her with the tools to overcome adversity and remain grounded.
Now, Kayla seeks to pour those same values into others. She is committed to using her gifts as a vessel to help young women recognize their worth and embrace the power they hold to make a difference in the world.
Titus 2:7-8 NIV
- "In everything set them an example by doing what is good. In your teaching show integrity, seriousness and soundness of speech that cannot be condemned, so that those who oppose you may be ashamed because they have nothing bad to say about us!"
